PELAVERGA
A prestigious grape variety boasting an illustrious and perhaps
slightly mysterious past. In the mid 1980s it began to become
clear that there could be considerable difference between the
pelaverga grown in Saluzzo and one grown in the Verduno area.
In-depth research proved that this grape variety has unique ampelographic,
agronomic and oenological characteristics, so unique as to make
it a peculiar and completely different cultivar. It was given
the name Pelaverga Piccolo at the beginning of the 1990s and the
wine was awarded the DOC appellation in 1995
